Welcome Aboard “Chub Cay Colors”

A little something fun from the Club. Every great harbor has its old hands—the members who feel less like guests and more like part of the crew. To celebrate the people who make this place what it is, we are rolling out Chub Cay Colors, our own good-natured nod to our standout members who make Chub special.

Think of it as the world’s most relaxed navy.

The ranks

Chub Cay Members rank and insignia chart showing enlisted ranks E-1 through E-9 and officer ranks O-1 through O-10

Every great navy (even relaxed ones) needs a full crew, and ours has the works. Whether you are an eager deckhand earning your way up or an officer on the bridge, there is a place for everyone in the fleet.

Members start off in one of the two rankings:

  • Enlisted (lower half): Starting as a Seaman Recruit.
  • Officers (upper half): Starting as an Ensign.

Here is the best part: It doesn't matter where you start. A Seaman Recruit and an Ensign are both looking at the exact same summit. From wherever you begin, the path leads up and every rank is within reach. The deckhand swabbing the bow today could be commanding the fleet tomorrow.

Meet some of the fleet

Let's take a look at some of the members who have already received their colors:

Our First Officers (Commissioned as Ensigns) — Some of the very first members to earn their commission and step onto the bridge. Welcome to the wardroom, gentlemen—the fleet is yours to help steer.

  • Ensign Wayne Huizenga Jr.
  • Ensign Randal L. Ringhaver
  • Ensign Pat McAteer

Our First Crew (Seaman Recruits) — The founding hands of the enlisted ranks. They are fresh aboard, already turning heads. Keep an eye on these three; remember, every Admiral started exactly here.

  • Seaman Recruit Hunter Kearney
  • Seaman Recruit David Frymire
  • Seaman Recruit Todd Spivey

How to rise through the ranks

How do you get promoted? That’s the Club’s little secret.

There are no forms to fill out, no boxes to tick, and nothing to apply for. Now and then, our quiet Promotion Board convenes, takes a look around the harbor, and recognizes members who stand out. A fresh set of colors simply… arrives.

Consider it the Club’s way of saying: We see you, and we’re glad you’re here.

The fine print (there isn't much)

This is strictly for fun and recognition. There are no obligations and no pop quizzes on knot-tying. Keep being you—because somewhere, a Board is taking notes.

*** This is a just-for-fun program and every member is automatically opted in. You do not need to do anything; you will simply have a rank name stated on your digital membership card, and that can only be viewed by you—it's not made public. If you do not want to be involved at all, please email info@chubcay.com stating your wish to opt out.
